The Professional Massage Therapy Program totals 637 hours in the theory and practice of therapeutic massage and related modalities. Human Anatomy & Physiology are intensively addressed. This program provides students with the curriculum necessary to be successful as an entry level massage therapist in a variety of settings including spas, salons, medical environments, fitness environments, wellness centers and private practice.

Program Objectives:
To prepare students for the National Certification Examination and for certification as a Massage Therapist by developing skills necessary to meet the needs of the health care community. Upon passage of the examination, graduates seek employment as entry-level massage therapist. Graduates will be competent in performing a variety of massage techniques and have a high level of knowledge in human anatomy and physiology.


Basic Skin Care Training Program

This program offers the most pertinent theoretical and practical components of skin care training. The theory component emphasizes the study of the structure and function ofthe human body, the latest body and facial treatments, dermatology, product chemistry, and product ingredients. The theoretical experience will also expose students to business and career development, salon safety, Virginia laws and regulations, and salon sanitation. The practical portion of the program will develop the student’s dexterity, manipulative skills, and confidence required to be an effective Esthetician. The Basic Skin Care Program offers instruction in basic facials, make up application, extensive waxing procedures, non-wax hair removal, and rapid exfoliants.

Program Objectives:
To prepare students to sit for the state examination for licensure in the State of Virginia and enter the field of skin care at an entry level. To develop in students the skills necessary to become successful in the State of Virginia and to meet the needs of the skin care community which they will enter. Students will have a thorough working knowledge of the structure and function of skin, provide preventative care for the skin, and offer treatments to keep the skin healthy and attractive. This program will train students to perform facials manually and with the aid of machines. It will offer comprehensive training on the application of corrective, camouflage, and daily enhancement make up, and how to safely remove superfluous hair on the face through epilation.
